Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability innovation roadmap that supports Unilever Kenya’s net‑zero and circular economy targets.
- Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to embed sustainability criteria into product development and sourcing decisions.
- Lead pilot projects on eco‑design, waste reduction, and renewable energy integration, measuring impact and scaling successful initiatives.
- Engage external stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and industry groups, to foster partnerships and influence policy.
- Prepare and present sustainability performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Monitor emerging sustainability trends, technologies, and regulations to keep Unilever Kenya at the forefront of innovation.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a proven track record of delivering sustainability projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior executives and external partners.
- Deep understanding of circular economy concepts, carbon accounting, and responsible sourcing frameworks.
- Project management expertise, including budgeting, timeline management, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, CDP).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in sustainability, CSR, or environmental management is highly preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in sustainability strategy, corporate responsibility, or related fields, preferably within the consumer goods or FMCG sector. Demonstrated success in leading cross‑functional projects and delivering measurable environmental outcomes is essential.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based incentives.
