Job Overview

The Reservoir Simulation Engineer will lead advanced reservoir modeling and simulation activities to optimize hydrocarbon recovery for our clients. Working closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and production teams, you will develop robust numerical models, conduct sensitivity analyses, and provide actionable recommendations that enhance field development plans. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and calibrate 3D reservoir simulation models using industry‑standard software such as Eclipse, CMG, or Petrel.
• Integrate geological, petrophysical, and production data to create accurate representations of reservoir behavior.
• Perform history matching, forecast production scenarios, and evaluate enhanced oil recovery techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop field development plans, well placement strategies, and production optimization studies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualizations for internal stakeholders and client meetings.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and regulatory requirements in the Kenyan oil and gas sector.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the organization.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Schlumberger Eclipse, CMG, Halliburton Nexus).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross‑functional team.
• Familiarity with Kenyan oil and gas regulations and local geological settings is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geosciences, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., SPE, IFP) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in reservoir simulation, history matching, and production forecasting within the upstream oil and gas industry. Experience with on‑shore fields in East Africa or similar geological environments is preferred.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives and benefits are included.
