Job Overview
The Process Optimization Manager will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of continuous improvement initiatives across the Nairobi bottling plant. Reporting to the Director of Operations Excellence, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality meets the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead lean manufacturing projects using Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to achieve measurable improvements in cycle time, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and develop data‑driven solutions that align with corporate KPIs.
- Facilitate cross‑departmental workshops to foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that reflect best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and report on project outcomes, cost savings, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Partner with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of process changes.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical tools and manufacturing software (e.g., Minitab, SAP PP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive change in a fast‑paced environment.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in manufacturing.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in manufacturing process improvement, preferably within the beverage or consumer goods sector. Experience leading large‑scale continuous improvement programs and delivering quantifiable results is essential.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
