Position: Deputy Headteacher (Teaching Job)
Reports to: School Principal
Monthly Gross Salary: KES 40,000
Hillcrest International Schools is a dynamic Christian non-profit institution committed to community development and quality education. The school is seeking a Deputy Headteacher who will support the Principal in academic leadership, school operations, student welfare, and staff management. The role requires a strong leader who can foster a Christ-centered and disciplined learning environment while driving academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise the Principal and oversee school operations in their absence
- Manage daily administrative functions including staff rosters, records, and discipline logs
- Ensure safety, security, and proper management of school facilities
- Supervise implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC)
- Monitor syllabus coverage and coordinate examinations and performance analysis
- Teach assigned subjects and support academic improvement initiatives
- Lead student discipline, welfare, counselling, and pastoral care programmes
- Mentor and supervise teaching and non-teaching staff
- Organise staff training and performance appraisals
- Strengthen parent and community engagement programmes
Requirements:
- P1 Certificate or Diploma in ECDE
- Valid TSC Registration Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary/ECDE) is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience
- At least 3 years as Senior Teacher or 2 years in a leadership role
- Ability to teach Lower Primary is an added advantage
