Job Overview

The Sustainability Reporting Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and communicating Barclays Kenya’s ESG disclosures and sustainability reports. Reporting directly to the Head of ESG, the analyst will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data, assess performance against sustainability metrics, and ensure compliance with local and international reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, and the Kenyan ESG guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and analyze ESG data from various business units, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual sustainability reports in line with GRI, SASB, and Kenyan regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, and operations teams to embed ESG metrics into financial reporting and decision‑making processes.
  • Monitor emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to advise senior management on strategic implications.
  • Support the development of ESG KPIs and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of ESG disclosures for investors, rating agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and assurance providers to validate ESG data.
  • Contribute to the creation of sustainability communication materials for internal and external audiences.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data manipulation tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex data into clear narratives.
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD) and Kenyan ESG regulations.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ESG software platforms.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, ESG Analyst (ESG‑CFA), or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG analysis, financial reporting, or a related field within the banking or financial services sector. Experience with regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
