The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical care in the Department of Medicine and supporting Medicine program initiatives. S/He will be expected to actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team and contribute to the hospital’s continuing professional development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality and comprehensive medical care to patients and ensure holistic treatment plans.
- Champion and drive growth and enhancement of the scope of services within the department.
- Participate in the departmental and institutional quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Inculcate teamwork and a multidisciplinary approach to patient management.
- Support medical education as part of continuing professional development services within the department and the institution.
- Support in teaching and mentorship activities of junior doctors and interns.
Qualifications
- Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized university.
- Registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) and holding a valid practising licence.
- Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Excellent clinical judgement with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to coordinate care within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- At least one year of post-graduate work experience.
- Good interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.
