Job Overview
John Walker & Sons Kenya Limited is seeking a dynamic Urban Development Project Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of urban infrastructure projects in Nyeri. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about shaping sustainable cities while collaborating with government agencies, local communities, and private stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate urban development projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with local regulations and sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with municipal authorities, engineers, and urban planners to design infrastructure solutions.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for large-scale developments.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new urban projects.
- Engage with local communities to address concerns and integrate feedback into project designs.
Required Skills
- Expertise in urban planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS) and project management tools.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Problem-solving skills for resolving construction and regulatory challenges.
- Proficiency in budget forecasting and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication for presenting project updates to multidisciplinary teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Urban Development or Public Policy is an advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in urban development, infrastructure projects, or municipal planning.
- Proven track record in managing projects in East Africa.
Salary
250,000 – 350,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
