Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Integrity Engineer to join our specialized technical team in Lodwar. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural assessments and forensic investigations on existing and new infrastructure.
- Utilize advanced finite element analysis (FEA) software to simulate load distributions and stress points.
- Develop comprehensive structural health monitoring (SHM) programs for critical assets.
- Collaborate with site engineers to ensure construction adheres to approved structural designs.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential fatigue, corrosion, or structural degradation.
- Provide technical guidance on material selection to enhance the durability of structures.
Required Skills
- Expertise in structural modeling software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or ANSYS.
- Deep understanding of international building codes and Kenyan construction standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities regarding complex mechanical stresses.
- Excellent technical reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in remote field environments.
Education
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. Professional registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in structural design or forensic engineering within the heavy construction or infrastructure sector. Proven experience in large-scale projects in arid or challenging terrains is a significant advantage.
