Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Smart City Planner to join our team in Kisumu, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of smart city initiatives and projects, working closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement smart city strategies and plans that align with the city’s vision and goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Lead the development of smart city projects and initiatives, including data analytics, IoT, and other technologies
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to city officials and stakeholders on smart city planning and implementation
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources for smart city projects and initiatives

    • Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in urban planning and development, with a focus on smart city initiatives
  • Strong technical skills in data analytics, IoT, and other smart city technologies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

    • Education

    A Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field is required. A Ph.D. in Urban Planning or related field is an asset.

    Experience

    8-12 years of experience in urban planning and development, with a focus on smart city initiatives. Experience working in Africa is an asset.

    Salary

    KES 80,000 – 120,000 per month, depending on experience.
