Job Overview
The Senior Mine Geologist will lead geological investigations, resource modeling, and mine planning activities for the Lodwar mining complex. This role is pivotal in translating raw geological data into actionable mine development strategies, ensuring optimal resource recovery while adhering to safety and environmental standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and community liaison officers, to deliver high‑quality geological deliverables that support Kibaran’s growth objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive geological field programs, including mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys.
- Develop 3D geological models using software such as Leapfrog, Surpac or Vulcan.
- Prepare detailed resource estimates in compliance with JORC and NI 43‑101 standards.
- Collaborate with mine engineers to produce feasible mine plans and schedules.
- Lead the interpretation of drilling data, core logging, and assay results.
- Ensure all geological documentation meets regulatory and internal quality requirements.
- Mentor junior geologists and field technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to communicate project benefits and address concerns.
- Monitor and mitigate geological hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide technical input for environmental impact assessments and reclamation plans.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
- Project management experience, including budgeting and timeline adherence.
- Knowledge of Kenyan mining regulations and international reporting standards.
- Ability to work in remote, rugged environments and adapt to challenging field conditions.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field is mandatory. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Geologist) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Applicants must possess a minimum of five years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and mine planning. Prior experience in copper‑gold projects within East Africa or similar geological settings will be given priority. Salary
