Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Heineken Kenya’s QA function at the Eldoret production facility, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed effectively.
- Oversee product testing, microbiological analysis, and sensory evaluation to guarantee product consistency.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to troubleshoot quality issues and drive root‑cause analysis.
- Manage a team of QA specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Kenya Food Authority (KFA) regulations and international standards for beverage safety.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP.
- Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in quality software tools and data analysis (e.g., Minitab, QMS platforms).
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the beverage or food manufacturing sector, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
