Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed effectively.
• Oversee product testing, microbiological analysis, and sensory evaluation to guarantee product consistency.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to troubleshoot quality issues and drive root‑cause analysis.
• Manage a team of QA specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Kenya Food Authority (KFA) regulations and international standards for beverage safety.
• Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in quality software tools and data analysis (e.g., Minitab, QMS platforms).
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the beverage or food manufacturing sector, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Salary
