Job Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Maersk’s Thika operations, overseeing cargo handling, transportation coordination, and warehouse activities. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the incumbent will ensure that all processes align with Maersk’s standards for safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound freight, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement operational KPIs to monitor performance, cost efficiency, and service quality.
  • Coordinate with customs, port authorities, and transport providers to ensure seamless cargo movement.
  • Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans.
  • Identify process bottleneities and lead continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and Maersk’s internal policies.
  • Prepare operational reports and present insights to senior management for strategic decision‑making.
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities, including cost control, resource allocation, and vendor negotiations.

Education

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in logistics operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience within a multinational logistics provider or freight forwarding environment is preferred.

Salary
