Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze biodiversity data from field surveys and remote sensing technologies.
- Develop species distribution models and population trend assessments using GIS and statistical software.
- Collaborate with researchers to design conservation strategies based on data insights.
- Prepare technical reports and visualizations for stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs.
- Support community engagement initiatives by translating scientific findings into accessible formats.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (R, Python, SQL) and GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Experience with biodiversity databases (e.g., GBIF, OBIS) and ecological modeling techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-sector collaboration.
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of IUCN Red List criteria or similar conservation frameworks is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, or related discipline.
