Job Overview

The Digital Payments Product Owner will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Barclays’ digital payment products, from ideation through launch and ongoing optimization. Reporting to the Head of Digital Banking, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, design, compliance, marketing, and operations—to define product strategy, prioritize features, and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for digital payment solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, and data analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Prioritize features based on customer insights, market research, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead sprint planning, review, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality product increments.
  • Monitor product performance metrics, conduct A/B testing, and iterate to improve conversion and retention rates.
  • Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Kenya regulations, AML/KYC standards, and data protection laws.
  • Engage with external partners, fintech startups, and payment networks to explore integration opportunities.
  • Prepare and present product updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of digital payments ecosystems, mobile money, and API integrations.
  • Proven product ownership experience in fintech or banking environments.

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience managing digital payment products or services, with a proven track record of launching successful fintech solutions. Salary
