Job Overview
The Logistics Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automated systems that enhance the efficiency of Amazon’s fulfillment centers in Kenya. Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer automated material handling equipment, including robotic arms, AGVs, and conveyor systems.
- Develop integration plans for hardware and software components, ensuring seamless communication with Amazon’s Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Lead pilot implementations, collect performance data, and iterate designs to achieve target KPIs such as pick rate, error reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with safety officers to conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for automated equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance technicians.
- Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and maintenance manuals.
- Stay abreast of industry trends in robotics, AI, and IoT, recommending innovative solutions that enhance operational excellence.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing process bottlenecks and proposing automation‑driven solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Java for robotics control.
- Experience with PLC programming, ROS, or similar automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, material flow, and supply chain logistics.

Education
