Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of solar and wind projects in the Lake Victoria basin. Reporting to the Regional Director of Renewable Energy, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines for solar and wind installations.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including engineers, procurement specialists, and local contractors to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact analyses in compliance with Kenyan regulations.
• Manage permits, licenses, and stakeholder approvals from government agencies, local authorities, and community groups.
• Monitor project performance, track key performance indicators, and produce regular status reports for senior management.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to technical design, supply chain, and financing.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld throughout project execution.
• Collaborate with finance teams to secure project funding and manage cash flow.
• Support business development by providing technical input for new project proposals.
• Foster strong relationships with local communities to promote social acceptance and long‑term project sustainability.

Required Skills

• Strong project management expertise with proven delivery of renewable energy projects.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and GIS tools.

Education

Experience

Applicants must have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience managing solar or wind power projects, preferably in East Africa. Experience with utility‑scale installations, EPC contracts, and community liaison is essential.

Salary
