Job Overview

Jumo Kenya seeks a dynamic Financial Inclusion Officer to drive community engagement and financial literacy initiatives in Garissa. This role will focus on expanding access to digital financial tools for low-income households, small businesses, and rural populations. The position reports directly to the Regional Financial Inclusion Manager and operates under Kenya’s Central Bank financial inclusion guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial literacy programs for rural and semi-urban communities
  • Collaborate with local NGOs and government agencies to identify financial inclusion gaps
  • Conduct outreach campaigns to promote mobile money and digital banking adoption
  • Provide training to community leaders on financial management and digital tools
  • Collect and analyze data on financial behavior patterns to inform product development
  • Maintain compliance with national financial inclusion regulations and reporting standards

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial behavior data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in project management and stakeholder coordination
  • li>Knowledge of mobile money platforms and digital banking systems

  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working in diverse communities
  • Fluency in Swahili and English

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field. Postgraduate qualification in Financial Inclusion or Rural Development is an advantage.

Experience

2-3 years in financial services, microfinance, or community development roles. Experience with mobile money platforms like M-Pesa or Airtel Money is preferred.

Salary

200,000 – 300,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and performance metrics.
