Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Clinical Research Associate to join our clinical development team in Nairobi. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring clinical trials, ensuring they are conducted in strict accordance with the protocol, standard operating procedures, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-study, initiation, routine monitoring, and close-out visits at clinical trial sites.
  • Verify that clinical trial data is accurate, complete, and verifiable from source documents.
  • Ensure investigator sites comply with the clinical trial protocol and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage investigational product accountability, storage, and dispensing records.
  • Prepare detailed monitoring reports and follow-up letters within established timelines.
  • Address and resolve queries related to case report forms and data entry discrepancies.
  • Facilitate effective communication between site staff, investigators, and the GSK study team.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and local regulatory frameworks in Kenya.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for managing site relationships.
  • Proficiency in clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic data capture (EDC) tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple trial sites effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities to address site-level issues promptly.

Education

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Nursing, or a closely related Life Sciences discipline from a recognized institution. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in clinical research will be highly regarded.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in clinical trial monitoring within a pharmaceutical company, contract research organization (CRO), or academic research institution is required. Proven experience in managing multi-center trials is highly desirable.
