Blue Ventures is hiring a Chief External Affairs Officer (CEAO) for a permanent, full-time remote opportunity in Kenya. Key Responsibilities
As the Chief External Affairs Officer, you will lead Blue Ventures’ external engagement strategy and ensure the organization has the visibility, influence, and partnerships needed to expand impact globally.
Strategic Leadership & Executive Management
- Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
- Drive external affairs strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Strengthen Blue Ventures’ global reputation and public profile.
- Support organizational growth through strategic partnerships and influence.
Fundraising & Donor Relations
- Oversee fundraising performance and donor engagement strategies.
- Build strong relationships with philanthropic organizations, international donors, funding institutions, and grant partners.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to strengthen financial sustainability.
- Increase funding opportunities through relationship management and storytelling.

Education Requirements
Candidates should ideally possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Environmental Science, Communications, Public Policy, Marine Conservation, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field.
- A Master’s degree or executive leadership qualification is highly desirable.
Experience Requirements
To succeed in this executive role, applicants should demonstrate:
- Significant senior leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, conservation, sustainability, fundraising, communications, or international development.
- Proven success in executive stakeholder management and partnership building.
