Job Overview
This role involves designing and implementing cutting-edge agricultural technology solutions tailored to Kenya’s smallholder farmers. The AgriTech Solutions Specialist will bridge the gap between digital innovation and traditional farming practices, ensuring scalable adoption of tools like precision agriculture, IoT-enabled crop monitoring, and AI-driven yield prediction models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy digital tools for soil health analysis, pest management, and irrigation optimization
- Collaborate with local farming cooperatives to identify technological needs and training requirements
- Analyze agronomic data to improve crop yield forecasts and resource allocation
- Partner with tech startups to integrate emerging AgriTech solutions into existing farming ecosystems
- Conduct field trials to evaluate the impact of digital interventions on productivity and sustainability
Required Skills
- Expertise in agricultural technology platforms and digital farming software
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience in designing mobile-based solutions for rural communities
- Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture practices and sustainable resource management
- Excellent communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration with farmers and tech teams
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or Computer Science
- Advanced certification in Agricultural Technology or Digital Solutions (preferred)
Experience
- 3-5 years in agricultural technology development or digital agriculture projects
- Proven track record in implementing technology-driven solutions in rural settings
Salary
120,000 – 150,000 SSP/month, commensurate with experience and technical expertise.
