Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will support the end‑to‑end financing of solar, wind, and hybrid power projects across Kenya. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with project development, engineering, and legal teams to structure financing packages, conduct financial modeling, and assess risk. Your analyses will inform investment decisions, ensuring projects are financially viable and aligned with Schneider Electric’s sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed financial models for solar, wind, and hybrid projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams, and financing structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning to evaluate project profitability and risk.
• Collaborate with project development teams to prepare investment memoranda, pitch decks, and stakeholder presentations.
• Coordinate with banks, investors, and development finance institutions to negotiate loan terms, equity structures, and grant funding.
• Monitor project financial performance post‑commissioning, tracking key metrics and ensuring compliance with covenants.
• Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for senior management.
• Stay updated on Kenyan energy policies, tax incentives, and regulatory frameworks affecting renewable financing.
• Support the preparation of ESG reports and sustainability disclosures aligned with global standards.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software (e.g., @RISK, PVSyst).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and financing mechanisms.
• Familiarity with Kenyan energy regulations, tax incentives, and PPP frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in English; Kiswahili fluency is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance) or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or PMP are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or financial advisory, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Experience working with international lenders, development agencies, or multilateral institutions is a strong plus.

Salary
