Job Overview

The Sustainable Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing, assessing, and managing green financing products, including green bonds, sustainability‑linked loans, and climate‑focused investment portfolios. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive ESG risk assessments for corporate clients seeking sustainable financing.
  • Structure and price green bonds, sustainability‑linked loans, and other ESG‑focused financial products.
  • Collaborate with product development, risk, and compliance teams to embed sustainability criteria into credit policies.
  • Prepare detailed financial models and impact reports that quantify environmental benefits and align with international standards such as the Green Bond Principles.
  • Support client onboarding by providing advisory services on ESG reporting, carbon accounting, and sustainability strategy.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, track ESG metrics, and prepare periodic internal and external disclosures.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments, market trends, and best practices in sustainable finance across Africa and globally.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and financial software.
  • In‑depth understanding of ESG frameworks, green bond standards, and sustainability‑linked financing structures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. Candidates holding an MBA, CFA, or a specialized certification in Sustainable Finance (e.g., GARP’s Sustainability Accounting Standards) will be given preference.

Experience
