Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forestry Specialist to join our team in Kitale, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts. This will involve working closely with our team to design and implement digital tools and platforms that enhance our ability to monitor and manage forests, as well as engage with local communities and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts
  • Design and implement digital tools and platforms to enhance forest monitoring and management
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable land use practices
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement conservation plans
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform digital solutions and conservation efforts

Required Skills

  • Strong technical skills in digital solutions development and implementation
  • Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in digital solutions development and implementation, with a focus on forestry and conservation

Salary

60,000 – 80,000 SSP per annum
