Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, with experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and developing mitigation measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture
- Develop mitigation measures to minimize the environmental impacts of projects
- Collaborate with project developers, government agencies, and local communities to ensure that environmental concerns are addressed
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for projects
- Conduct environmental monitoring and reporting for projects
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- At least 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in Kenya
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with stakeholders
Education
The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field will be an added advantage.
Experience
The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management. Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments for infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture projects will be an added advantage.
Salary
The salary for this position is 60,000 – 90,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
