Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will support the structuring, evaluation, and monitoring of financing for KenGen’s renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, including cash flow forecasts, debt service coverage ratios, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering market, regulatory, construction, and operational risks.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, term sheets, and presentation decks for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with lenders, equity partners, and government agencies to negotiate financing terms and secure funding commitments.
  • Monitor project financial performance post‑financial close, ensuring compliance with covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for the Project Finance department.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to review financing agreements and ensure alignment with Kenyan regulatory frameworks.
  • Stay updated on market trends, policy changes, and financing mechanisms relevant to renewable energy in Kenya and the broader East African region.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and project development cycles.
  • Familiarity with Kenyan financial regulations, tax incentives, and power purchase agreements.

Education
