Job Overview

The Maritime Logistics Coordinator will manage cargo coordination, vessel scheduling, and compliance with international shipping regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cargo loading/unloading operations at Mombasa Port and oversee vessel schedules.
  • Collaborate with customs authorities, shipping agents, and port authorities to ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Optimize freight routes and shipping schedules to minimize delays and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor and report on logistics performance metrics, including on-time delivery and cargo handling efficiency.
  • Implement risk management strategies to address supply chain disruptions and security challenges.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in maritime logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and port operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Swahili preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Maritime Studies or Business Administration (MBA) advantageous.

Experience

  • 3-5 years in maritime logistics, port operations, or international trade.
  • Experience with Kenyan and East African maritime infrastructure and regulations.

Salary

KES 150,000 – KES 200,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance.
