Job Overview
This critical role involves developing and implementing safety protocols to ensure compliance with national and international mining safety standards. The Mining Safety Officer will work directly with operational teams to identify risks, conduct audits, and foster a culture of safety across mining sites. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about occupational health and safety in high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across mining operations
- Develop and enforce safety protocols aligned with Kenyan mining regulations
- Provide training to employees on safety procedures and emergency response
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with external regulators to maintain compliance certifications
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics

Education

Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mining safety roles, preferably in gold or mineral extraction operations. Candidates with experience in ISO 45001 certification processes will be prioritized.
Salary
120,000 – 150,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
