Job Overview
This role oversees daily mining operations at Anglo American’s Mombasa facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards, production targets, and environmental regulations. The position requires strategic coordination of teams, equipment, and logistics to optimize output while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise extraction, processing, and transportation of minerals
- Implement safety protocols to minimize workplace risks
- Coordinate with geologists and engineers for site assessments
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules
- Ensure adherence to environmental compliance standards
- Prepare operational reports for senior management
Required Skills
- Proven leadership in mining operations
- Technical knowledge of mineral extraction processes
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in mining software and safety management systems
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in mine safety or environmental management are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years in mining operations, preferably in open-pit or underground mining environments. Experience with Anglo American’s operational standards is a plus.
Salary
150,000 – 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and performance.
