Job Overview

EcoPost Kenya seeks a dynamic Waste Management and Energy Conversion Specialist to lead initiatives that convert organic waste into renewable energy. This role involves designing, implementing, and monitoring waste-to-energy projects in Nakuru and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will bridge technical expertise with community engagement to drive sustainable environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage waste-to-energy projects, including biogas and composting systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new waste conversion technologies and projects.
• Collaborate with local communities, municipalities, and NGOs to identify waste management challenges and solutions.
• Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with national and international sustainability standards.
• Train community members on waste segregation, composting, and energy conversion practices.
• Prepare project reports, budgets, and proposals for funding opportunities.

Required Skills

• Expertise in waste management systems and renewable energy technologies.
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of environmental impact assessment and sustainability frameworks.
• Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
• Fluency in Swahili and English for community engagement.
• Experience with GIS or mapping tools for project planning.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Sustainable Development preferred.

Salary
