Job Overview

The Telecommunications Network Planning Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and optimization of radio access networks (RAN) for Safaricom’s expanding portfolio. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed network design proposals, including site acquisition, antenna configuration, and backhaul requirements.
• Collaborate with RF engineers, civil teams, and procurement to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare technical reports, cost‑benefit analyses, and performance forecasts for senior management.
• Support the rollout of 5G and LTE‑Advanced technologies across the Eldoret region.
• Ensure compliance with Kenya Communications Authority (KCA) regulations and industry best practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize network performance and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in network planning software (Atoll, Planet, TEMS, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and drive actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, and emerging telecom standards.
• Project management experience, including budgeting and timeline adherence.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Experience
