📌 Project Overview
CESVI, in partnership with WHH and PGI, is implementing the ProGRESA project (Protection, Risk Management and Food Sustainability) in Garissa and Tana River counties. The project aims to strengthen resilience among vulnerable agro-pastoral communities by improving protection systems, risk management, and food security.

🎯 Job Purpose
The Protection Officer will support and supervise protection activities implemented by PGI, ensuring high-quality delivery, proper monitoring, and technical oversight across project locations.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise training for county officials and Protection Champions
- Coordinate community-based protection initiatives (GBV, child protection, disability inclusion)
- Support awareness campaigns targeting communities, leaders, and vulnerable groups
- Oversee development and distribution of IEC materials in local languages
- Coordinate mobile MHPSS services and referral systems
- Ensure quality monitoring and reporting of protection activities
- Participate in coordination meetings with partners and authorities

🧑💼 Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian protection projects
- Experience in GBV, child protection, or MHPSS programs
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong training and facilitation skills
- Knowledge of Kenya’s protection systems and policies
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to monitor, evaluate, and report on field activities
Languages:
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili
- Somali is an added advantage
