Job Overview

AECOM Kenya Limited is seeking an Urban Infrastructure Resilience Specialist to lead the design and implementation of climate-resilient urban infrastructure projects in Wajir. This role will focus on integrating sustainable practices into urban planning to mitigate the impacts of climate change and population growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute urban infrastructure projects that enhance climate resilience and disaster preparedness.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for urban development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to align project goals with regional development priorities.
  • Design sustainable water management systems, green spaces, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in urban planning, climate resilience, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping, CAD software, and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable development.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience working in arid or semi-arid regions is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree in Urban Resilience or Climate Change Adaptation is preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in urban infrastructure development or climate resilience projects.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.

Salary

200,000 – 300,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
