Job Overview
AECOM Kenya Limited is seeking an Urban Infrastructure Resilience Specialist to lead the design and implementation of climate-resilient urban infrastructure projects in Wajir. This role will focus on integrating sustainable practices into urban planning to mitigate the impacts of climate change and population growth. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects that align with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute urban infrastructure projects that enhance climate resilience and disaster preparedness.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for urban development initiatives.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to align project goals with regional development priorities.
- Design sustainable water management systems, green spaces, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in urban planning, climate resilience, or related fields.
- Proficiency in GIS mapping, CAD software, and project management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience working in arid or semi-arid regions is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Urban Resilience or Climate Change Adaptation is preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in urban infrastructure development or climate resilience projects.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
Salary
200,000 – 300,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
