About the Role
One Acre Fund is seeking an experienced and analytical Global Data Analyst to work with large, cross-country datasets and develop foundational data products that improve organizational decision-making.
The successful candidate will focus on designing and maintaining trusted, scalable, and self-service Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reporting systems that support informed decision-making across operational functions.
This position plays an important role in strengthening organizational performance by ensuring accurate, accessible, and sustainable data products that contribute to improved outcomes for smallholder farmers.
Unlike traditional analytics roles focused on one-off reporting requests, this position emphasizes the creation of durable, widely used BI products and automated reporting tools.
Job Description (JD)
The Global Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams and data engineers to create scalable analytics solutions, support analytical governance, and establish data consistency across operational areas such as finance, supply chain, people operations, and other organizational domains.
The role requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to transform complex business logic into practical, user-friendly analytics solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Build Foundational, Self-Service BI Data Products
The Global Data Analyst will:
- Design, build, and maintain high-impact, organization-wide dashboards (“tentpole dashboards”) that support self-service analytics.
- Develop trusted and scalable BI products that can be consistently used across departments.
- Ensure reports and dashboards remain accurate, documented, and sustainable for long-term organizational use.
- Continuously monitor user adoption and improve dashboard relevance and usability.
- Maintain data quality standards and consistency across reporting systems.
2. Own Analytical Domains & Partner with Data Engineering Teams
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the lead analyst for assigned business domains such as:
- Finance
- Human Resources / People Operations
- Supply Chain
- Program Operations
- Organizational Performance
- Understanding operational workflows and business logic within assigned domains.
- Managing the complete lifecycle of analytics products including:
- Prioritization
- Stakeholder consultation
- Requirements gathering
- Dashboard wireframing
- Product delivery
- Iterative improvements
- Working closely with Data Engineers to embed business rules into the organization’s data warehouse and semantic layers.
- Ensuring metric consistency and communicating limitations of data sources where necessary.
