Job Overview

This position is ideal for a results-driven professional with expertise in agricultural exports. The Horticultural Export Coordinator will manage end-to-end export processes, including supplier coordination, compliance with international trade regulations, and quality assurance. The role requires strategic collaboration with logistics partners, government agencies, and horticultural producers to optimize export efficiency and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination of horticultural exports (flowers, vegetables, fruits) to international markets.
  • Ensure compliance with phytosanitary standards, export documentation, and customs regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Kenyan farmers, cooperatives, and export partners.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare export reports, track shipments, and resolve logistical challenges.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in agricultural export operations or international trade.
  • Strong knowledge of horticultural supply chains and quality control protocols.
  • Proficiency in export compliance (e.g., phytosanitary certificates, HS code classification).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills for cross-border collaboration.
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of a second language (e.g., Swahili, Arabic, or Dutch).

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or International Trade.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management or Agribusiness is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in export coordination, preferably within the horticultural sector.
  • Experience working with East African Community (EAC) or European Union (EU) export markets.

Salary

85,000 – 120,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and performance.
