Role Summary
A leading motorcycle dealer in Kenya is seeking a Senior Corporate Affairs Officer to support its legal, compliance, and governance functions.
The role focuses on legal risk management, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and corporate governance advisory. The officer plays a key role in ensuring business integrity, legal compliance, and risk mitigation across operations.
Key Responsibilities
⚖️ Legal & Litigation Management
- Attend court sessions and handle legal proceedings support
- Draft pleadings and conduct legal research
- Maintain litigation register and case tracking systems
📑 Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements
- Use approved templates for standard and complex contracts
- Maintain contract tracker for renewals, expiries, and obligations
- Ensure timely alerts for contract compliance deadlines
🛡️ Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- Implement compliance monitoring frameworks and checks
- Track obligations against regulatory compliance calendars
- Liaise with regulators and industry bodies
- Prepare compliance and audit reports
📊 Risk & Governance Reporting
- Compile audit findings and assess legal and operational risks
- Develop corrective action plans with process owners
- Produce monthly compliance dashboards and reports
- Ensure data integrity and version control in reporting systems
📣 Advisory & Internal Support
- Provide timely advice on legal and compliance issues
- Escalate complex legal risks and disputes
- Conduct internal compliance awareness and training sessions
Qualifications & Requirements
🎓 Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)
- Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law
- Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- Valid Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Practicing Certificate
💼 Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in legal practice or corporate legal environment
- Experience in corporate/legal advisory roles (added advantage)
- Exposure to business, regulatory, or compliance law
🧠 Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of business and regulatory laws in Kenya
- Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills
- Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage contracts, compliance systems, and legal documentation
- Proficiency in legal and office software tools
